Step 3: Slip-On Fitting (Week 5 from Consultation) By week 5 the garment is 90% complete and ready for your second fitting. Since your first fitting the garment has evolved to a slip-on state. we assess the impact from previous adjustments and confirm final measurements, such as sleeve length and trouser outseam to proceed with cutting sleeve buttonholes and finalizing the trouser hem style. Gustavo will then conduct a final inspection of the garment to determine if any additional tweaks are needed. Step 4: Final Fitting Session 1 to 2 weeks after the slip-on fitting, we reach the final step. What began as a concept is now a finished garment. The first commission is always the most time-consuming. Now that the client’s personal pattern is established, future commissions will be much quicker, provided there are no major physical changes. As we take time with the client to admire their completed garment, ideas for their next sartorial project may start to emerge. Stomach: Measure around the widest part of your stomach, typically around the navel. Shoulders: Measure across the back from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other. Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor. Sleeve: Measure from the edge of your shoulder to your wrist, allowing the tape to follow the natural curve of your arm. Jacket Length: Measure from the top of your shoulder, near the base of your neck, straight down to where you want the jacket to end. Typically, this is around the middle of the buttocks. Seat: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks while standing. Keep the tape measure parallel to the floor and snug but not tight. Waist: Bend to the side to find your natural waist. Measure this area, keeping the tape slightly loose. This is typically where you wear your trousers. Outseam: Measure from the top of your waistband, along the outer side of your leg, down to the desired length of the trousers. This is typically to the bottom of the ankle or where you prefer the trousers to end. The measurement shown in the size chart are body measurements.
